Arrive in a city of riverfront promenades, busy neighborhoods and a constantly changing skyline. Today is yours to settle in and begin at your own pace.
Arrival: Meet your driver at the agreed airport or railway-station meeting point. Look for your name sign, then transfer to your Shanghai hotel and check in.
Your First Impressions of Shanghai
Take time to rest after your journey. If your arrival schedule allows, enjoy an independent walk near your hotel or find a welcoming place for your first meal. Your scheduled sightseeing begins tomorrow.

Your experience: A comfortable arrival and time to adjust before the journey through Jiangnan.
Day 2 · Suzhou Gardens, Xitang & Wuzhen
Route: Shanghai → Suzhou’s Humble Administrator’s Garden → Xitang boat ride → Wuzhen Xizha lantern-and-bridge walk.
Leave the skyline behind for a day of waterside pavilions, sheltered lanes and illuminated bridges. Each stop offers a different way to experience Jiangnan’s relationship with water.
Morning: Travel from Shanghai to Suzhou and explore the Humble Administrator’s Garden with your guide.
The Art of the Chinese Garden
At the Humble Administrator’s Garden, ponds, rockwork, covered walkways and carefully framed views create a landscape that unfolds as you walk. Pause at a window or pavilion and notice how the composition changes with just a few steps.

Your experience: Discover the details that give a classical Suzhou garden its sense of depth, balance and quiet.
Afternoon: Continue to Xitang in Jiaxing. Take the planned boat ride through the water town, passing canal-side buildings and covered waterfront corridors.
Xitang, Seen from the Water
Step aboard and watch the town drift past at water level. Low bridges, tiled roofs and reflections offer a gentler view of its streets, while your guide introduces the character of this waterside community.

Evening: Continue to Wuzhen’s Xizha scenic area. Join the lantern-and-bridge walk, then settle into your Wuzhen accommodation.
Wuzhen After the Lights Come On
Stone lanes and old waterfront buildings take on a different atmosphere after dusk. Warm light traces the canal edges, and bridges become natural places to pause and take in the reflections.
Trip highlights: Classical garden design, a boat ride in Xitang and an atmospheric lantern walk through Wuzhen.
Overnight: Wuzhen.
Day 3 · Hangzhou’s Sacred Hills & West Lake
Route: Wuzhen → Hangzhou’s Lingyin–Feilai Peak scenic area → West Lake → Songcheng show.
Travel to Hangzhou for wooded paths, lakeside scenery and an evening performance inspired by the city’s cultural heritage.
Morning: Leave Wuzhen for Hangzhou and visit the Lingyin–Feilai Peak scenic area.
Stone Carvings & Forest Stillness
The Lingyin area brings together wooded hills, temple architecture and Buddhist carvings set into the rock at Feilai Peak. Follow the paths with your guide, taking time to notice the different expressions and details in the stonework.

Your experience: A quieter side of Hangzhou, shaped by shade, stone, water and centuries of spiritual life. The specific temple access included in your visit will be confirmed in your final itinerary.

Afternoon: Explore the West Lake scenic area, enjoying lakeside views and time to appreciate its pavilions, trees and distant hills.
West Lake, One View at a Time
West Lake invites you to slow down. Willow branches frame the water, pavilions mark the shoreline, and the hills soften into the distance. The light and seasons continually change the scene, making a simple lakeside walk one of the journey’s memorable moments.
Evening: Attend the planned Romance of the Song Dynasty performance at Songcheng. The day’s timing will be arranged around the confirmed show session.
Trip highlights: The Lingyin–Feilai Peak landscape, West Lake scenery and a theatrical introduction to Hangzhou’s cultural stories.
Overnight: Hangzhou.
Day 4 · Tea Traditions & Shanghai from Above

A Moment for Tea
Discover a style of tea preparation centered on finely powdered tea and whisking. Follow the host’s guidance, observe the movement of the whisk and try the process for yourself. It is an opportunity to engage with a tradition through touch, rhythm and attention.

Your experience: A guided, hands-on introduction to Song-style tea preparation. The tea photograph illustrates Chinese tea culture; your workshop setting will be arranged locally.
Later: Walk along Hefang Street, with time to browse its traditional-style storefronts and discover local snacks or small souvenirs at your own expense.
