II. Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 · Welcome to Chongqing
Route: Chongqing Airport / Railway Station → hotel → free time
Rivers, bridges and hills set the scene for five days in China’s mountain city.
Arrival: Your driver meets you at Chongqing Airport or the railway station and takes you to your hotel. Keep your phone available so the local team can confirm your meeting point and pick-up arrangements.
A Gentle First Evening
After check-in, the rest of the day is yours. Rest after your journey or take a short independent walk near your hotel. No guided sightseeing, meals or additional vehicle service is scheduled after the arrival transfer.
The local team will contact you in the evening with the next morning’s departure details.

Meals: No meals included.
Day 2 · City Icons, Old Streets & Hongyadong
Route: Yangtze River Cableway → Eling No. 2 Factory → Liziba monorail ride → Longmenhao → Xiahaoli → Shancheng Trail → Jiefangbei → Hongyadong
Ride above the river, travel through a building and discover the old lanes beneath the skyline.
Morning: After breakfast, the planned hotel pick-up is around 7:30 a.m. Begin with the Yangtze River Cableway, crossing above the river with views of bridges and the layered city. Continue to Eling No. 2 Factory, where former printing workshops now house creative studios, cafés and small independent businesses.
A Train Through the City
Ride the Line 2 monorail at Liziba for Chongqing’s celebrated train-through-a-building experience. The riverside observation area offers another perspective on this remarkable meeting of everyday transport and hillside architecture.
Afternoon: After lunch at your own expense, wander through Longmenhao Old Street and neighboring Xiahaoli. Stone steps, restored buildings and riverside viewpoints frame the Yuzhong skyline and Dongshuimen Bridge. Follow the Shancheng Trail through the city’s steep terrain, with old residential lanes and elevated riverside paths revealing its many levels.
Chongqing in Golden Light
Continue to Jiefangbei, the central landmark amid the downtown shopping streets. As evening arrives, enjoy Hongyadong’s night scene, where warm lights illuminate the traditional-style stilt buildings along the river. Return to your hotel after sightseeing.
Meals: Hotel breakfast included; lunch and dinner at your own expense.
Day 3 · Heritage, Creative Corners & Neon Nights
Route: Baigongguan → Zhazidong → Ciqikou → The Ring → Beicang → Guanyinqiao photo stop & food street → Jiujie
Discover another side of Chongqing, from historic sites to creative neighborhoods and lively evening streets.
Morning: After breakfast, depart around 8:00 a.m. for Baigongguan and Zhazidong, former detention sites associated with Chongqing’s twentieth-century history. These visits offer a reflective introduction to the city’s past. Baigongguan is planned for at least 40 minutes; specialist commentary inside the museum is not included.
Continue to Ciqikou Ancient Town for at least an hour among traditional lanes, shops and the atmosphere of an old riverside trading town. The morning order may be adjusted to suit reservations and local conditions.
Nature Meets Urban Design
Afternoon: After lunch at your own expense, visit The Ring shopping park, known for its indoor greenery and garden-like spaces. This is a sightseeing stop, with no required shopping. Then explore Beicang Cultural and Creative Park, a former textile warehouse district transformed into a neighborhood of creative shops, cafés and red-brick corners.
The Energy of Guanyinqiao
Head to Guanyinqiao for the popular “I’m in Chongqing” photo spot and the surrounding urban scene. Browse Guanyinqiao Food Street and choose your own snacks or dinner. Finish with the atmosphere of Jiujie, a lively evening district of restaurants, music venues and bars, before returning to your hotel. Food, drinks and venue purchases are paid separately.
If Baigongguan is closed or excessively crowded, the planned alternative is the Hongyan Soul Exhibition Hall.
Meals: Hotel breakfast included; lunch and dinner at your own expense.
Day 4 · Chongqing at Your Own Pace
Route: Free day · choose your own sights, tea stops and local food
Leave room for the Chongqing that catches your eye: a museum, a neighborhood walk or a leisurely local meal.
Enjoy breakfast and a full day of independent exploration. There is no scheduled tour, guide or vehicle service today. The route illustration shows ideas for your free day, rather than an included sightseeing program.
Ideas for Your Free Day
The Chongqing Zoo, Great Hall of the People, Three Gorges Museum, Kuixinglou and Jiaotong Teahouse are options to consider. Check opening days and any reservation requirements before setting out, and choose a manageable selection rather than trying to visit them all.
For a day centered on food, explore Bayi Food Street near Jiefangbei or seek out Chongqing hotpot, local home-style dishes, skewers and barbecue. All independent transport, attraction admissions, food and personal purchases are at your own expense.
Meals: Hotel breakfast included; lunch and dinner at your own expense.
Day 5 · Farewell to the Mountain City
Route: Hotel breakfast → check-out → onward flight or train
Enjoy a final morning in Chongqing before continuing your journey.
Have breakfast at your hotel and enjoy any remaining free time according to your flight or train schedule. Hotel breakfast is generally served between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m.; the exact hours follow your hotel’s arrangements.
Check-out: Plan to check out before noon. Ask the hotel directly about luggage storage or late check-out if required, and keep valuables with you. Coordinate your departure transport and meeting arrangements with the local team in advance.
Flights and train tickets for your onward journey are arranged separately. No further hotel night is included.
Meals: Hotel breakfast included; other meals at your own expense.
