From the first email to the last airport transfer, nothing was too much trouble. Our coordinator planned every detail, and our guides in Beijing and Xi’an knew exactly how to keep two young children engaged. The morning my daughter learned to make dumplings, and the afternoon we sat with a panda keeper in Chengdu, are moments our family will never forget. When our flight changed they rearranged everything within the hour. We never once felt rushed or herded onto a big tour bus. This is the gold standard for traveling in China.

    1. You'an Travel says:

Thank you so much, Emily! We’re delighted the children loved the dumpling class and the panda experience. We’d love to host your family again someday.

We asked for romance and scenery rather than a checklist. After a quiet sunset on the Mutianyu Great Wall we flew south, drifted through the Li River peaks on a bamboo raft, and cycled between rice fields with no fixed schedule beyond the light. Dinners were tiny local tables by the water. Every hotel had character and a view. We came home with a thousand photos and somehow none of them quite capture how peaceful it felt. We are already planning our return.

    1. You'an Travel says:

What a lovely summary, Daniel and Chloe. The Li River at dawn is one of our favorite moments too — thank you for letting us be part of your honeymoon-style trip.

The glass bridge and the pillars were jaw-dropping, but the unexpected bonus was our guide, who knew every angle and captured photos of us we will frame for our home. She even brought welcome gifts and local snacks. After the wild green mountains, finishing among the neon and Art Deco towers of the Shanghai Bund was the perfect contrast. Everything ran like clockwork yet felt completely personal. We cannot recommend this route enough.

Traveling with a husband and two young boys, I was nervous about the logistics. We should not have worried. The bullet train was effortless, the vehicle was comfortable and private, and sitting beside a giant panda during the keeper morning is something the children still talk about every week. The pace was gentle and the guides were patient, funny and genuinely kind. It felt less like a tour and more like friends showing us their country.

    1. You'an Travel says:

Thank you, Sophia! Those panda mornings are always a highlight for families. Warm regards from the whole team.

Our flight was delayed by hours and they were simply waiting for us regardless of arrival time. Standing face to face with the Terracotta Army was a moment we will never forget, and the attention to detail across the whole week was remarkable. Guides were knowledgeable without ever lecturing, and the price was more than fair for the level of care. From a couple who usually travel independently, we would absolutely book again.

As a solo traveler who has visited more than sixty countries, I can say this was among the best-organized journeys of my life. Over eight weeks of iconic sights and remote villages, every train, hotel, guide and driver simply appeared when it should. My coordinator felt like a friend, always one message away. China proved to be vast, astonishingly varied and the safest country I have walked through alone. I am already saving for the next route.

    1. You'an Travel says:

Marco, it was an honor to follow your long adventure. Fifty-six days and still more to see — the next route is waiting whenever you are.

We chose a private Beijing-Xi’an trip for our anniversary and the level of care was remarkable. Our guide met us at the airport with a sign, walked us through the Forbidden City without the crowds, and even had a small cake in our room. Cycling the Xi’an city wall at golden hour was pure joy, and the Peking duck dinner they arranged is the best meal we have ever had. Every question was answered within minutes. Worth every penny.

    1. You'an Travel says:

Happy anniversary, Michael and Sarah! That golden-hour bike ride and duck dinner are two of our favorites too. Come back and see the south next time.

I traveled solo and never once felt like it. In Chengdu I spent a full morning at the panda base watching the babies at feeding time, then joined a volunteer session where I helped prepare bamboo. Zhangjiajie was beyond belief — the pillars floating in mist look exactly like the movie, and the cable car ride up is an adventure in itself. The logistics between two very different places were seamless and the guides looked out for me the whole way.

Beijing itself is five stars — the Great Wall took our breath away and the hutong rickshaw ride with a home-cooked lunch was the highlight of the whole trip. Our only reason for four rather than five is that a couple of the main sights were extremely crowded and the timing felt a little tight on day two. When we mentioned it, our coordinator immediately reshuffled the rest of the days so we had more room. We would absolutely return and book with them again.

    1. You'an Travel says:

Thank you for the honest feedback, David and Emma. We’ve since adjusted that day-two timing to start earlier and beat the crowds — glad we could fix it on the spot.

I was nervous about traveling in a country where I didn’t speak the language, but every guide and driver made it effortless. Standing before the Terracotta Army, cycling the old city wall, and then floating past the green karst peaks of the Li River felt like three different holidays in one. The Longji terraces at sunrise were the most beautiful thing I have ever photographed. Everything ran exactly on time and the hotels were full of character.

    1. You'an Travel says:

Thank you, Carlos! Your photos from Longji at sunrise sound wonderful. We’d love to host you for the western mountains next.

This was my first trip to Asia and it was pure magic from start to finish. The Shanghai skyline at night is even more dazzling in person, and the high-speed train to Hangzhou was smooth and effortless. Cruising the West Lake at dusk and wandering the classical gardens of Suzhou felt like stepping inside an old painting. Every detail, from the boutique hotels to the little tea houses, was thoughtfully arranged. I cannot recommend this route enough.

We hiked Huangshan before dawn and watched the sun rise over a sea of clouds with the granite peaks all around us — a moment we will never forget. A short train ride brought us to Hangzhou, where a local tea master walked us through a traditional tea ceremony beside the West Lake. The pacing was gentle, the guides were warm and knowledgeable, and not once did we feel rushed. This is how travel should feel.

    1. You'an Travel says:

The Terracotta Army and the pandas absolutely lived up to the dream and our guides were first class. I’m giving four stars only because the travel day between the two cities ran longer than expected and one hotel room was smaller than the photos suggested. The team was apologetic, upgraded our next room and followed up to make sure the rest of the trip was perfect. I’d still book with them again without hesitation.

    1. You'an Travel says:

Robert, thank you for raising this. We’ve changed our recommended hotel in that city and built in a more relaxed transfer day. Glad the rest of the trip delivered.

From a snowy Great Wall near Beijing to the emerald waters around Yangshuo, this journey was everything I hoped for. We drifted past karst peaks, shared a steaming hotpot with our guide, and walked the quieter stretches of the wall almost alone. What stayed with me most was the kindness of everyone we met. The organization was flawless yet the trip felt completely personal. I’m already planning my return.

There is no doubt China is astonishing and the highlights — the skyline, the gardens, the trains — were genuinely memorable. For me personally the itinerary moved too quickly between cities and I would have preferred two nights in fewer places; one transfer also left me with a short wait in the rain. The team has since been in touch, apologised and offered a much slower route for next time, which I appreciated. I’d travel with them again but choose a more relaxed pace.

    1. You'an Travel says:

Kevin, thank you for telling us straight. We’ve added slower, two-night options on this route and improved the transfer meeting point. We’d love the chance to host you again at a gentler pace.
